    The western half of Hong Kong Island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak only generally.     • The summit of Victoria Peak is occupied by a radio telecommunications facility and is closed to the public. The surrounding area of public parks, tourist facilities and high-value residential land is the area that is normally meant by the name The Peak.
    • The Peak also refers to Victoria Peak itself and its nearby areas, including Victoria Gap, Mount Kellett, and Mount Gough. Sometimes Bowen Hill may also be included.
    • The opening of the Peak Tram created a demand for residences on the Peak. Between 1904 and 1930, the Peak Reservation Ordinance designated the Peak as an exclusive residential area reserved for non-Chinese.
    • They also reserved the Peak Tram for the use of such passengers during peak periods. The Peak remains an upmarket residential area, although residency today is based on wealth.

    An urban area in southern Kowloon, Hong Kong. The area is administratively part of the Yau Tsim Mong District.     Geographically, Tsim Sha Tsui is a cape on the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula pointing towards Victoria Harbour, opposite Central. Several villages had been established in this location before Kowloon was ceded to the British Empire in 1860. The name Tsim Sha Tsui in Cantonese means sharp sandspit. It was also known as Heung Po Tau (香埗頭), i.e. a port for exporting incense trees.

    Tsim Sha Tsui is a major tourist hub in Hong Kong, with many high-end shops, bars, pubs, and restaurants that cater to tourists. Many of Hong Kong’s museums are located in the area.

    • Near the Mid-Levels. Its eating and drinking establishments are considered upmarket in price and the area is also considered a tourist spot. From the west side of the rectangle, Wo On Lane and Wing Wah Lane extend to host several more spots for drinks and food.
    • The area extends to Wellington Street and Wyndham Street, through to the Hong Kong Fringe Club. It is also home to a small number of art galleries.
    • In early days, the square housed many mui yan (媒人), or marriage arrangers, a role exclusively held by females. Mui yan were marriage intermediaries between two families in traditional times. It was thus known as Mui Yan Hong or Hung Leung Hong.

    • The building is notable for its hemispherical shape, which contains a planetarium, the only one in Hong Kong. The main facilities of the museum are located in a building next to the planetarium, showcasing information about the Solar System, cosmology, and spaceflight.
    • Accessible from Salisbury Road, it is adjacent to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower. The Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of History are also located in Tsim Sha Tsui.
    • The Hong Kong Government decided to build the museum at Tsim Sha Tsui and invited Mr. Joseph Liu to serve as Planetarium Advisor. In 1974, The USD signed a contract with the Carl Zeiss Company to purchase a planetarium and other equipment at a price of HK$3,050,000.
    • Construction commenced in 1977 and the museum opened on 8 October 1980. The museum contained the world’s first computerized planetarium. In the 2008-2009 financial year, there were about 590,000 visits to the museum.

    • Hong Kong Disneyland was opened to visitors on Monday, 12 September 2005 at 13:00 HKT. Disney attempted to avoid problems of cultural backlash by incorporating Chinese culture, customs and traditions when designing and building the resort, including adherence to the rules of feng shui.
    • Notably, a bend was put in a walkway near the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort entrance so good qi energy would not flow into the South China Sea.The park consists of seven themed areas: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Grizzly Gulch, Mystic Point, and Toy Story Land. The theme park’s cast members speak Cantonese, English and Mandarin. Guide maps are printed in traditional and simplified Chinese as well as English.
    • The park has a daily capacity of 34,000 visitors — the lowest of all Disneyland parks. The park attracted 5.2 million visitors in its first year, below its target of 5.6 million. Visitor numbers fell 20% in the second year to 4 million, inciting criticisms from local legislators.
    • Since the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, the theme park has hosted over 25 million guests. According to AECOM and TEA, Hong Kong Disneyland is the 13th most visited theme park in the world in 2013, with 7.4 million visitors.

    • The market starts at 2 pm. but is lively at dusk daily. Traffic is closed on the street at that time as visitors swarm into the street. There are more than a hundred stalls with colorful lights in the market. There are carts bulging with goods from clothing to mobile phones and watches.
    • Stalls have items mainly for men, jeans, t-shirts, pants, lighters, shoes, and men’s accessories. Low-priced merchandise is common in the night market. Cheap second-hand goods such as cassettes, video tapes, old newspapers, and antiques are also sold there. Like in other night markets in Southeast Asia, prices can always be negotiated by bargaining.
