Previously all travelers need to apply for a visa before their trip to Japan. Because the borders were only open to travelers on guided package tours. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Thursday at a news conference in New York City – “We will lift the ceiling of the number of entrants into Japan, lift the ban on individual travel and lift the ban over visa-less travel”.
With the border reopening to independent foreign travelers and reintroducing visa-free entry from October 11, 2022 and lifting of the daily arrival cap, now you can include Japan in your travel bucket list.
