Myanmar – 8 killed in prison bomb blast and at least 13 others were injured by explosions at Myanmar’s biggest jail – Insein prison, local media reported on Wednesday.

5 people who were delivering parcels to prisoners and 3 prison staff were killed when 2 bombs exploded around 940 in the morning, News of Myanmar reported on the Telegram social media platform.
The blasts occurred inside and outside of the parcel reception office near the main iron gate of Insein Prison in the country’s biggest city Yangon.
An armed anti-junta group – Special Task Agency of Burma (STA) – claimed responsibility for the attack at Insein Prison in a statement posted on social media.
“Today…the Special Task Agency of Burma (STA), carried out two attacks to execute the prison head. We’re retaliating against Min Aung Hlaing and…the prison officers for continuously oppressing our revolution comrades. retaliation against (junta chief) Min Aung Hlaing” it said.
