Shearer slams Liverpool Penalty in 3-1 win at Crystal Palace – Liverpool earned a hard fought 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace with goals from Van Dijk, Oxlade-Chamberlain and a controversial late penalty dispatched by Fabinho at Selhurst park with Palace on the ascendancy, and reduced Manchester City’s lead in the PL table to nine points.
Alan Shearer was livid after the Crystal Palace vs Liverpool match, and he slammed on-field referee Kevin Friend & VAR Craig Pawson for their ‘ridiculous, pathetic and stupid’ decision to award a controversial penalty to the visitors.

Liverpool were under immense pressure in the second half and it seemed that Crystal Palace could have found the equalizer with many chances, before the controversial penalty was awarded to the Reds, after Diogo Jota ran into goalkeeper Vicente Guaitaand gone down.
Referee Kevin Friend initially waved for play to move on, before VAR Craig Pawson asked him to review his decision on the VAR, and Friend awarded the penalty. Fabinho stepped up to convert the spot-kick by sending Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guaita the wrong way, and sealed three points for Liverpool.
