Singapore-Malaysia Borders Fully Reopens On 1 April 2022 with no quarantine and covid test requirements Starting 1st April 2022, land borders between Singapore and Malaysia will be fully reopened, and fully vaccinated travelers and non-fully vaccinated children aged 12 and below are permitted to travel between the countries with quarantine-free and without the need for COVID-19 tests.

In Singapore

Travelers who are fully vaccinated does not need 

  1. no longer be required to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) or Air Travel Pass (ATP) for entry into Singapore.
  2. no requirement for pre-departure testing before arriving in Singapore
  3. does not need to stay-home notice once arriving in Singapore.

Travelers need to

  1. submit SG Arrival card within 3 days of arriving at the checkpoints.
  2. upload digital copy of vaccination certificate at SafeTravel Portal.
  3. Non-Malaysian Work Pass Holders (WPH) holding an In-Principle Approval (IPA) to work in the Construction, Marine Shipyard and Process (CMP) sectors will still be required to obtain an entry approval from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), and meet MOM’s onboarding requirements upon arrival.
  4. Foreign-registered cars and motorcycles to enter Singapore must apply for a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP).

In Malaysia

Malaysian Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that there will be no quota for all modes of travel when the border between Malaysia and Singapore reopens. He also said that all land border checkpoints will be operational 24 hours instead of the current 18 hours.

Travelers who are fully vaccinated does not need

  1. Foreign travelers do not have to apply for MyTravelPass to enter Malaysia.
  2. no requirement for pre-departure testing before arriving in Malaysia.
  3. no quarantine is required.

Travelers need to

  1. install the MySejahtera app
  2. Activate the MySejahtera app then submit for Pre-Departure Form via the Traveller icon in MySejahtera.
  3. You can upload your digital copy of the vaccination certificate to the Mysejahtera app.
