Spain wins Singapore 11-6 Pool World Cup Finals – Spain’s David Alcaide and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz win the Pool World Cup for the first time, as they defeated Singapore’s Aloysius Yapp and Toh Lian Han to pocket the prize money of US$60,000 (S$83,440).
David Alcaide and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz had beat Taiwan’s Ko brothers of Pin Yi and Ping Chung 9-4 to reach this final, and their last best World Cup appearance was reaching semi-finals in 2019.
“Every day we had more confidence. All the scores, 7-1, 7-1, 9-2, when you look you think this is our time let’s go. To be honest, in the semi-final and final, we were so nervous at times. But when we had tough shots, we played so good. I think when you play for a team it’s more special than when you play singles. This is my little brother. We’ve played together for 10 years and worked so hard. This moment is amazing for us.” said Alcaide.
