Travellers to Florida US – Hurricane warnings till Thursday 5am local time were issued by the National Weather Service earlier on Tuesday. Hurricane Ian’s winds continued to spawn tornado warnings over much of lower Southwest Florida with a half-dozen by 10 pm.

A tornado warning means a tornado is on the ground – Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
Also it means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.
