Ukraine invaded by Russia, fights for survival – Ukraine leaders have warned the world to take note of the Russian threat as Ukrainian civilians reacted to Russia launching a full invasion of the country by air, land and sea.
Many also remained stoic even as missiles fell on multiple cities and Russian forces also attacked from land and sea. The attacks on Ukraine began in the morning of Thursday, after President Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale military operation from Belarus, Russia and Crimea.
Dozens of people have been killed during the first hours of the invasion, with fighting widespread across the country.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave a brief national address to declare martial law throughout Ukraine and called on all citizens who are ready to defend against Russian forces to come forward, saying Kyiv will issue weapons to everyone who wants them.
Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now.
