Microsoft Teams up after a global outage – Microsoft’s MS Teams was back up for most users, the company said on Thursday, after an hours long outage disrupted the enterprise chat application for tens of thousands of customers globally.
MS Teams is the proprietary business communications platform by Microsoft, and is primarily used by businesses as an internal workspace chat and videoconferencing platform. The outage affected businesses which rely upon the app for internal communications, especially more so sine the pandemic and WFH (Work from home) hybrid work culture started.
We’ve received reports of users being unable to access Microsoft Teams or leverage any features. We’re investigating the issue and further updates can be found in your Service Health Dashboard via TM402718.

An affected user shared that the Microsoft Teams desktop app may sign in successfully, but all functionalities within it may not work. Users are greeted with the “We ran into a problem. Reconnecting…” message.
On the web client, users will instead see the “Operation failed with unexpected error” message. Reports also claimed that users are also unable to access the admin centre to view updates.
