Travellers to Sydney Australia take note – Sydney train commuters should expect delays throughout this morning as industrial action impacts peak hour services, and travellers should monitor news to avoid disruptions to travel plans.
Hundreds of New South Wales road workers, construction crews and other transport staff will strike for 24 hours from early on Thursday over the public sector wage offer by the government, which they argue amounts to a nett pay cut due to escalating inflation.

Hundreds of workers from 69 depots who help maintain some of the city’s major highways, roads and bridges, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge – have walked off the job for 24 hours as of 6am on Thursday.
The workers gathered outside the front gates of major depots like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Civic Park.
“These workers don’t take action lightly. They haven’t been on strike in decades,” Australian Workers’ Union NSW Branch vice president Cameron Wright said of the strike.
